However, completing a qualification in PE can predominantly open doors to becoming a teacher, physiotherapist, coach, fitness trainer, sports scientist, dietician, sports development officer, sports therapist, management of a sporting facility and many more.

Lifestyle and diet, optimum weight, skeletal system, tendons and ligaments, muscular system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Lever systems, biomechanics of movement, joints, planes and axes, goal setting, classification of skills, practise and guidance, sport psychology, and personal exercise plan PEP.

This is a GCSE equivalent course, any work is graded as a level 2 pass, merit or distinction. Students must achieve a level 2 pass overall for the qualification to be a GCSE equivalent.

Physical Education: Key Stage 4

Students will complete 2 compulsory modules; the first is named Fitness for Sport and Exercise and this is assessed through an online exam, the second is a written bit of coursework, named Practical Sports Performance. Both of these modules must be complete in order to pass the award. The qualification involves practical and theory, however, the practical aspect of the course is to aid the students in practising the theory.

The main focus will be on the students strongest individual sports, this is dependent on the cohort. Each student must enter 1 team sport, 1 individual sport and 1 other of their choice from a selected list of sports from the exam board. Musculo-skeletal system, cardio-respiratory system, injuries and treatments, performance enhancing drugs, participation factors, data analysis, commercialisation and the media, sporting behaviours and deviance in sport, revision and mock exams.

In year 11 the students will complete 2 more pieces of written coursework. These are graded using the same system that year 10s follow. This qualification is done in conjunction with a level 2 sports leadership award.
